Lectors / Proclaimers of the Word

There are several groups of Lectors (Readers) in our parish who assist the parish priest by greeting the congregation, reading the first and second readings, and reading the Prayers of the Faithful.

The groups are included on the church roster for both churches (Sacred Heart Church in Yeppoon and Mary Immaculate Church in Emu Park).
  • The Greeter: Welcomes everyone to Mass and reads the Prayers of  the Faithful.
  • The 1st Reader: Carries the Book into The Church and reads the first reading.
  • The 2nd Reader: Reads the second Reading and carries the Book  out of the Church.
